Sada Cumber, Chairman & CEO
Sada possesses extensive experience and leadership in imaging and technology-based industries. He is a successful and well-known entrepreneur who has founded six companies in the past 25 years, three of them specializing in the photo imaging space. Prior to founding SozoTek, Sada served as Chairman & CEO of Psionic Technologies, Inc., an Internet Security software company acquired by Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) in 2002.
In 1995, he co-founded Applied Science Fiction, a company specializing in a digital dry film process and digital photo enhancement and restoration whose technologies were acquired by Kodak (NYSE: EK). Sada previously owned Triumph Flexo, which was acquired by American Greetings (NYSE: AM) in 1994. Sada has also served on the Board of Directors of the Photo Marketing Association International (PMAI) and Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA), and on numerous other boards, civic/community organizations, advisory councils and foundations.
Dr. Albert Edgar, Chief Scientist
Albert is an award-winning expert in digital image processing who is named on more than 80 patents relating to analog and digital imaging technology, many as sole inventor. Al leads a team of imaging scientists at SozoTek who have developed technologies resulting in over 200 patents in the past ten years.
Al co-founded and served as Chief Scientist with Applied Science Fiction (acquired by Kodak). In this capacity, he developed the company’s numerous patented technologies relating to film scanning, surface defect correction, color reconstruction and digital film processing. Al previously served as a Senior Scientist/Engineer with IBM. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University. He recently received the 2003 Technical Achievement Award from the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association, Inc. (PMDA). In his spare time, he is also a noted fine art photographer.
Ralph Germer, Vice President, Operations
Ralph has more than 20 years’ experience in technology management of digital imaging technologies and photo products with manufacturers and service providers in the US and Japan. He’s managed annual revenues over $100 million.
As the former Director, Sales, US and Japan, and Director, Product Management with Applied Science Fiction (ASF), Ralph sold digital imaging optimization technology to major OEMs in Japan and the US. He also guided the launch and managed ASF’s plug-in software business. Prior to this, Ralph spent 17 years with Konica Photo Imaging, where he served in a variety of management positions, most recently as Vice President of Digital Imaging Development. In this capacity, he managed the company’s consumer digital camera and professional scanning systems businesses.
